manjaro linux forum totally non functioning without any reason or explaination ?

i used to use manjaro linux forum, because i started to learn to use manjaro linux. often got a lot of issue that i totally can't understand.. that forum is quite user friendly too.

but few days ago, it totally just locked up.. can't post anything there. what on earth is going on. it has being many days.. i lost count. no information, nor any acknowledgement.. nothing. just suddenly all locked up.. what a weird way of operating a social forum.

asked just in case someone can enlighten me.

thx

Something is amiss with the forum, I get the firefox warning page about potential security risk. I figure they will sort it out after a while.

manjaro.org appears to be completely broken.
The main page is hidden behind some intro screen, there's no "News" at all, forums.manjaro.org redirects to archived.forums.manjaro.org (if your browser allows the outdated certificate) which is read-only and contains no statement as to why the forum is gone either.
Adding manjaro recently going commercial, and some internal strife about using funds for buying a laptop for a team member - it doesn't look good...

yes.. if that forum failed.. then i will have no more manjaro support from community.. then i might well take this chance to switch to arch linux.. which at least has a bit of similarity with manjaro.

i just stepped into linux world this year.. i am totally newbie with linux.. what more manjaro and arch. i landed in ubuntu for a few weeks, then realize it is not really that flexible.. hence i switched to manjaro.
and now this happened... no announcement of what so ever. horrible management.

Dunno about the forum, but yesterday I attempted to update a system I hadn't booted in a year or so. manjaro crashed and burned on the update, Win10 (eventually after a bunch of reboots) updated fine.

Hardly a recommendation IMHO.

no kidding, u said manjaro update crashed ?!! gosh! the end of manjaro

I'd demand a refund if I were you...
(Actually, the joke might even apply in this situation)

andrewysk 08-15-2020 08:34 AM

They have tweeted that they have a data integrity problem with the forum, but there are also speculations that it can be damage control to silence the drama about donated funds being misused and the project treasurer quitting over it.

While the latter is definitely true, I don't see any reason to suspect deliberate crippling.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the linuxquestions manjaro sub forum?

Have a look at EndeavourOS which is Arch-based and has a decent forum:
