problems with mplayer gui
 

hello all ,
when i run mplayer from the command line the dvd plays normal , but its anoying since i dont know how to enable the menu etc. etc.

when i run it in gui mode the dvd plays in fast forward mode
it's mplayer 0.90 mdk package , it use to play fine it jsut changed by itself

i'm on MDK9.1 with no updates coz of slow connection

have u used the proper procedure for installing (./configure, make, su, make install), have u got the necessary libraries, have u tried using gmplayer command

i installed it using rpm (MDK) and yup i tried gmplayer , same problem , it used to work , it just dd that by itself , i tried upgrading to the new 1.0pre still same problem

Alternative course of actions:

1) Uninstall and reinstall, make sure all dependencies are satisfied, it KPackage there is an option to test before install, if output is other than 0, do not install
2) Download KPlayer from freshmeat.net and try to install the rpm
3) There is a separate mplayer-gui program, download and install the rpm, test before install
4) Do not rely on mplayer, cause it is a large program, download the binary from www.mplayerhq.hu along with skins, fonts, win32 codecs, read the instructions in the site, and install
