Problems getting Audigy 2 to work produce sound
Hi guys,
I'm running mandrake 9.1 and I have a soundblaster audigy 2. I'm having a real bad time getting any sound out of it. I have looked in a half dozen forums but have not found the same problem I am having. Basically, and correct me if I'm wrong, when I first install mandrake 9.1 I get the emu10k1 driver running but then alsa does not seem to be installed even though the kernel is configured for it. So I installed alsa but even after that when I go to the arts sound config and select alsa as the interface I get an error, either permission denied or no such file or directory found. I get the permission denied the first time, when alsa is actually running, but then after that I can't seem to get alsa back up and running, I'm not sure why. I'm kinda lost here. any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks guys. -Dave |
heres a link for you...
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ld10k1/ from the web site... "EMU10K1 patch loader for ALSA. Supports SB Live, Audigy, Audigy 2." --cheers |
That seems like it would work, but don't I have to at least have alsa running for that to work? I can't even get that far.
