NT users login choices disappeared on Mandrake with winbind activated
I installed Mandrake 10 Official on a PC in a NT 4 network.
At the Root password prompt I selected advanced and use windbind. After that I could not logon with the root password, and not SU root, only when root have no password. And my user account that I created refuses my password the first time, but accepts it in a second try always (Ihave to type it correctly the first time to make the second try successful) Anyone have any explanation of this weird behaviour? After I put the machine into the NT domain, all the nt users are offered at the login prompt, and they all work with their NT passwords first time. BUT - when I create a share on one of the folders, then in the next reboot they are all gone again, getent password and getent group still works fine. How can I get them back and what governs this list?? Thanks for any help:( |
problem disappeared
It apparently had to do with a second session that I had initiated, that were unable to shut down, and came up with every new boot of the machine.
After this got killed completely, the problem hasn't been there |
