lvm question
if one combines a partition from drive 'a' with a partition from drive 'b'
into an lvm partition, what happens if either drive goes bad? is it like raid 0 where you lose all your data on both? tia, BabaG |
You cannot have "partitions" spanning multiple disks belong to a Volume Group.
The entire physical device must be devoted to the VG. A VG is the uppermost abstraction of LVM. |
thanks for the details. and what happens if one drive fails?
|
it depends on how you built the VG.
No md RAID? |
