How do Usb Cable Connection?
Yet another problem, my cable modem (linksys) connected by usb port works fine in windows, but after the install of mandrake it doesn't even try to work, not sure but I think it has something with the drivers, so which one would I need (since they give a list of a whole bunch) to get it going, also positive the configuration is messed up as well so I'm going need some info on that too. Any help preferably if it doesn't involve my keyboard (cause surprise!! my usb keyboard doesn't work either    )
P.S. my bios usb is enabled thank you very much |
Go get a network card if you need one, and use the network port of your cable modem. Don't bother with usb.
If your modem doesnt have an ethernet port... yikes.. I've never seen one without ethernet and you poor sap? :) Just jokin. If it doesnt have ehternet go buy decent cable modem and a network card if needed. |
uh, ok cadea go green bay, anyways anyone have any better suggestions. Btw I have Linksys usb modem, I'm pretty sure there is way to get connected by usb, thx n advance!

Go green bay.. yuck... I hate football :p
Only reason I suggested an ethernet was cause the cards only cause 3$.. lol Unless your modem doesnt have an ethernet port? |
When you boot which attempts to come up first, usb or eth0?
The reason I ask is because I had some problems with my network on a pcmcia card because the network came up first..followed by pcmcia (which meant nothing worked...mostly just froze). What I figure is that if network comes up sooner than usb (or tries to) it probably doesn't detect your cable modem (since usb isn't running) figures there is nothing so does nothing...then usb comes up normally. |
