Hi,

I keep getting this one the 2011 Mandriva for i586. It seems to happen on this KDE based distro only too but any prior ones with Gnome there is no problem. (See my attachment for the picture.)

This is not something I have done before nor am I familiar with these types of errors but only in Mandriva do I have this problem-no other distro. If anyone can give a real user friendly answer to fix this it will be appreciated! Otherwise, once again I will have to uninstall this distro but I want to keep it!

Here is what mcelog is...

mcelog can run in several modi: cronjob, trigger, daemon

Form the error messages posted, it would appear the daemon is running. You can confirm that by going into MCC, I think there should be an Icon for starting and stopping services. I would bet you have this daemon running, and it is having trouble with the cpu type you are running it on.

Is this an older system? Or something shiny and new?

You can also look in Installed Programs, and see if you can find a package with 'mcelog' in the title. It might be you are missing a package. Not sure on that one, just a thought.
