Easiest way to upgrade from 9.2RC1 to RC2?
 

What's the easiest way of upgrading to RC2? It's probably not much that has changed, do I have to download all three iso:s and burn them? It would be great if I could run a network upgrade within Linux.

If there's no network solution can I mount the isos and run the installation from my linux partion?

I'm a bit sick of all Mandrake CDs I have laying around on my desk... Damn it, I got broadband :p

looking at the download sites, it looks like they only have the ISO's set to download. Which means yes, you are going to have to download the images again. As for running off a hard drive, I would expect that you might beable to (having never done so), but you would need another partition, trick it into booting to that (or start in single user mode and point the machine at it, and possibly a few other things. I hate to say this, but burning the discs is probably the best option.

You could add cooker to your urpmi sources and then do a full update. That what I did orignally. I then dl the images to check for install bugs and report them. What I did find is that RC2 has Openoffice 1.1-0.rc3 which for some reason urpmi dosn't update.

you can install having the isos on the hard drive. You'll need to create a boot floppy with hd.img (or something like that; it's on the first iso and there are brief instructions for doing this). Once the installer starts from the floppy, it asks you for path of the iso. I think it should be on a different partition than you want to install it to (maybe /home partition is ok if you make sure not to reformat it). The trouble with this is that the installer is too stupid to recognize more than the iso of the 1st cd. So you end up having to manually add stuff from the other 2cds after doing a fairly minimal install. There might be way around this:
