New LQ Job Marketplace

We're considering moving the LQ Job Marketplace to a new service and have launched that service into BETA to evaluate it. Please visit http://jobs.linuxquestions.org/ and let us know what you think.

I like. Fairly clean interface (good use of whitespace; not overly busy). It detects my approximate location, and features jobs in my area.

Also seems appropriate for it to have its own subdomain name.

I think that anomie just answered my only question.

I think it could give the jobs feature more visibility.

Incidentally, I just landed a job offer through LQ. Thanks, Jeremy.

Hi,

A quick observation on this - is it worth being able to limit jobs displayed or search by country? This would be useful even if it just confirms that there are none.

Cheers,
Steve

You can already search by country, using the location dropdown.

Its a very clean look. Would this mean that employers need to re-post jobs on a regular basis in order to be on the first page of job listings? Would the pricing be the same as the original LQ Marketplace? All in all, nice work.

Featured jobs stay on the first page. Pricing remains the same.

Based on feedback it looks like we are going to proceed with the new job board. The tentative plan is as follows (but we're very interested in feedback, especially from those who have posted jobs in the recent past):

1) On March 1st we will disable new postings to the existing forum and rename it "LQ Job Marketplace [Archive]" or something similar.
2) We will create a "LQ Job Marketplace" link to the http://jobs.linuxquestions.org/ site.
3) The Archive will remain in place for the foreseeable future and old posts will be available via the existing URL indefinitely.
4) Any member who has posted a job in 2012 will receive one credit to post at the new site for every job posting they have made at the existing forum.

Suggestions or comments are welcome.

As stated above, I am now archiving this forum. If you have posted a job in 2012 and have not yet received your credits for the new LQ Job Marketplace, please contact me. If you have any additional feedback, you can use this thread to let us know.

Congratulations. The new job board is clearly a lot more active than the previous one, and therefore much more successful.
