Wireless Networking Question
 

Here's the topology:
1 linksys wireless access point (with DHCP turned off) (hardwired)
1 slackware box running DHCP server and DNS (hardwired)
2 slackware box clients (hardwired)
1 laptop (wireless)
2 ipaq (wireless)

here's the problem:
the ipaqs and laptop can only see other machines on the network or connect to it if they have an ip / netmask hard coded into them. Why can they not see the DHCP server running on the network? Do I have to have DHCP running on the Access Point?

i have the same setup with DHCP running on the AP for the wireless boxes.

How do you get DHCP to update DNS with hostnames?
