For anyone looking for a LUG...

First, a comment. As you will have seen from the first entries in this forum, the format is:
Title: the name/location of your LUG
Text: briefly introduce the LUG.
Please follow this as it makes searching for the rest of us easier :)

Until this forum is populated by more groups, I thought this would be useful as an interim info solution:
UK LUG Website and list broken down by region (use the links at the top of the page)
Singapore LUG
Japanese LUGs
the Irish LUG
Scandinavian LUG
Swiss LUG
Taiwanese LUG
Toronto LUG
Israel
Hong Kong
Tokyo

and many more. I acept that this is in no way a comprehensive list, but if you are looking for a LUG this may be of help. Hopefully you will all add your own (please search first to ensure that no one else has posted your local group :)) and make this forum the comprehensive list.

My Google search if you are looking for a LUG in your area:http://www.google.com/search?q=linux...8&start=0&sa=N

How-To Set Up A LUG

Welcome to the LUG Forum. :D

einstein71 - on behalf of all of us, you're welcome.

It would be better if you would start a new thread about your group - it makes searching/viewing easier and means that you can add events by replying to your own posts.

Thanks, I'll do that. I realized 5 seconds after I posted the topic and thought somebody would move it. *feeling like a dope* LOL

A bit bummed, no LUG found in my immediate area. As a newbie is it worth the 60mile hike to meet other users? Nice bunch of people?

I have no idea. Why not start one in your area, that way, you and others wouldn't have to make the journey.
