PDF is an open format.

Here is a tutorial that looks pretty good.

I vote for Adobe Photoshop & Paint Shop Pro.

My vote

I sum up my voice in vote for Dreamweaver MX and the complete Macromedia Studio MX. Also voting for Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator and Premier (or any Adobe Software, they're great)

A vote for Nero too. K3B is great but Nero's better.

Nobody has voted for anything like this but I will: some database visual design tool, like Embarcadero ER/Studio or ERWin. I don't know if they work with wine, but my goal is to get rid of wine as I started getting rid of windows. (No heart feeling from Wine developers, you're doing a great job)

NeoRageX
Shareaza (can't believe nobody mentioned this yet)
Cygnus Hex Editor
TMGEnc
MS Access

would love to see these apps on Linux. they're the reason why Windows is still sitting on my HDD.

edonkey in rpm file format?

edonkey is (as far as i know ) only downloadable in .tar and packed versions.
A nice .rpm file would be cool for a super noob like me....

Yardi

It's proprietary software for property management. It works best with Windows 98... XP doesn't like it very much. To upgrade to a newer version that runs better on XP will cost many thousands $$$.Yardi is the only reason they're sticking with Windows. And they want XP because of the networking capabilities. XP is costing them a fortune; my boss would love to switch to Linux and Open Office.

They would probably be willing to pay the same for a Linux version as for the upgraded Yardi version, because they would still save money by ditching Windows.

konqueror

I would like to see KDE's konqueror web browser ported to Linux. I'm talking about a standalone version which wouldn't require one to have kde and kde libraries installed. Or else a KDE installer would be nice, not only for installing but customizing the installation. As matters stand now, it's a major pain, esp. if all you really want is konqueror.
