Point of fakeroot differs from chroot

How does precisely fakeroot differ from chroot, in clear explanation?

Why can't or how can chroot perform the same task?

Chroot does one thing—run a command with a different root directory.

fakeroot runs a command in an environment where it appears to have root privileges for file manipulation.
