Fedora Core 7 won't read data cd
 

core 7 reads fedora core 7 dvd fine. it also reads an iso cd that I burned. however I have a "PHP and
MySQL" that core 7 will not read. When I try to manually mount this cd, command line says "no medium found". Log file says "Additional sense:unable to recover table-of-contents". The PHP and MySQL disks comes from the book by Welling and Thomson.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It does suggest that the problem may be the CD. Can I presume that you have tried to read the disk from another system desktop or a friends machine - perish the thought even Windows?

Any pertinent notes regarding use of the CD in the book or a contact email address. I imagine that the book was new and the disk isn't physically damaged - as determined by Mk I eyball inspection?

this disk is written with the CDFS file system.
support for this file system is not built into my kernel. off to rebuild a kernel ......
