Errors, Errors, and more Errors (KDE 3.4.x GUI Errors)
This prblm I've had since I got KDE to work (3.4) when I installed SuSe. This is a combination of KDE, FooBilliards, and Kopete (Part of KDE).
This I got w/: startx > kde_errors Quote:
Thats a file from a single session of KDE. There are more erros there then I know what to do with. Can anyone give me some help here? I'm not used to debugging this kind of thing, and would greatly appreciate help. |
hmm..
i see this post has been up for afew days without responses. first, i recommend when you post output from a file or command, put it in quote or code tags so its easy to read. second, tell us what we are dealing with before you post the output. you say your on suse 9.3, ok.. but, what did you to get these errors? when did this start happening? is this a fresh install? update to KDE? what? noone will come read these few pages of log without knowing what they are looking for exactly, or roughly. please edit the post and hopefully we can help! thanks |
Thanks nadroj, I did what I could (ran into a problem with too many characters, lol)
Anyways, I think there are some errors in Kate mixed in as well, and like I was going to say previously, I don't know enough to be able to figure out what these errors mean (hence me posting this here). I've looked through it, and would like to try and get it cleaned up if at all possible. Some info that may or may not have been in previously: KDE 3.4.[the newest 3.4.x I beleive]. Kopete (came with KDE, and works mostly. I don't care for Gaim, plus GCC is out of date so upgrading it a bit out of the question because I cann't figure out hwo to upgrade GCC w/o GCC) Gnome refuses to work on my comp, as well, but I think thats an error in Gnome (the screen will scroll some side to side, or used to, then would "jump" and would start to quickly scroll, and I have to hard-reboot) Thats all I can think of. Alot of my libs may be out of date, but its what came with SuSe and works on the frontend. Any other tips on debugging and repair work would be greatly appreciated so I could try and fix this kind of thing myself in the future. |
