Cannot adjust brightness, hue, saturation
I cannot adjust the brightness, hue, saturation etc in any video player (Xine and Mplayer). In fact, I can't even adjust brightness in Quake 3. I have a very old monitor, so I really need to adjust the brightness in videos. I have no clue what I should do. Can anyone help??

Guess what guys!! After all I decided that windows (however bad you may call it) is not as bad as you make it sound.... At least I can watch movies in windows.
My friend who recommended linux was wrong...it aint so cool after all!! :( |
OK....I have found out the source of the problem:
The problem occured only after I installed the NVIDIA driver for my graphics card. So I replaced the (Driver = "nvidia") into (Driver = "nv") in my XF86Config file. Now I'm sure the problem is due to my graphics card driver. Unfortunately, I need the drivers. And I also need the brightness control. I guess I need to tweak my graphics driver (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1) in such a way that I can adjust brightness. BUT HOW??!!!!! So help. Please help!! |
Note: Buy a linux-friendly graphics card. Next time its gonna be an ATI ;)
