Setting Up A server: Easiest way to do it on Mageia 9 and AlmaLinux 9.3, using WordPress or an alternative app
Hi all, first time posting on the forums, excited to post!
What is the easiest way to set up a web server using mySQL and/or APACHE and/or WORDPRESS on Mageia 9 and AlmaLinux 9.3? Either of these works fine for me; I appreciate the help, and any question answers are greatly appreciated! This is for a project for college. I have these two distros installed on separate computers. Thanks, Andrew Van Ek |
Welcome to LinuxQuestions.
There are many online guides to installing lamp on AlmaLinux and Mageia. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Task-lamp-installation https://www.tecmint.com/install-lamp-in-almalinux/ Most distributions have switched to mariadb versus MySQL. mariadb is basically a drop in replacement for MySQL. |
Thank you so much!!!
Your help means a lot! Andrew |
You might want to take a look at XAMMP.
Note that XAMMP out of the box is not designed to be public-facing; it is not password-protected. If you are looking to have a public-facing server, you will need to take the appropriate precautions. |
