run the command as root user or with sudo
Code:

/usr/bin/lspci -v
Make sure it is showing the long list of devices with one for wireless/Ethernet

You dont have to show long list of output. It is irrelevant. Just show the last stanza. It is for wireless. Also use the code tag to show output.
Ok. Output shows the wireless driver is installed . When you say it is not finding the Wifi, what that means is?. Your WIFI is not in the list of wireless networks?. It is in list but not accepting username password. It is accepting username password but no internet?. I am assuming, It is not shown in the list of wireless networks. So SSID (Wireless ID) may be set to hidden on Router?. Did you check that with router?

jawalpole 08-29-2012 06:36 AM

yes it is not finding the network. Also the router is not hidden.

hi jawalpole,
have you seen this!? It is a long thread but the first edited post should contain the instructions you need! Also check the referenced wiki pages...
In case of doubts or problems do not hesitate to come back for troubleshooting...good luck! ;)

can you please show us the output of htese commands:
Code:

ifconfig && ifconfig -a && iwconfig

I just went through this with the 4318 chipset. Hardwired or usb wireless to get internet access and ran the terminal command > sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer.
You can also download the installer and dependencies on another machine and transfer them. Your chipset is listed too. Blacklisting anything was either not necessary or done by the installer because wireless works perfectly.

Linux Mint 13 Page: http://www.linuxmint.com/rel_maya.php
Announcement
====================
Boot hangs on systems using b43 wireless cards

An upstream issue in the kernel prevents Linux Mint 13 from booting on computers with b43 wireless cards. If you're in this situation, try the following:

To boot the live DVD, choose the "Compatibility mode" or add the following kernel argument to the boot options: b43.blacklist=yes
Install Linux Mint on the hard drive
If not present already, in Grub, modify the boot options to add: b43.blacklist=yes
Install the b43 firmware on the system
