White grey strip on right hand side of display

I have updated my ubuntu from 12.04 to 14.04 few weeks ago. I am using Dell Inspirion N5010.

From past week i am noticing white strip on right hand side of my display. It remains there from boot up to shut down.

First i suspected it is display problem so i checked display output on other monitor but line was still there.

Also when i login i see message : Error : .. Could not force DPM to low.

So how can i get rid of that strip as it is unnecessarily clogging my space and due to that i miss my scroll bar ?

from bootup? you mean from the moment you turn your computer on? probably not. screenshot?

check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for interesting warnings / errors.

what graphic card?

Yes line remain there the moment i start laptop. But in screenshot there is no line. (Attached Below)

Also i have AMD graphic card with following description.
description: VGA compatible controller
product: Madison [Mobility Radeon HD 5650/5750 / 6530M/6550M]
vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]

I gone through check /var/log/Xorg.1.log and /var/log/Xorg.1.log.old but file is too large and i am totally blank on what to look for.

and Thanks for your reply.

well then it can't be related to linux or in fact any operating system.
check your bios settings, check the (graphics) hardware, gently blow out the dust...
