Unable to connect linux machines through sencondary router

I have three development machines: two linux machines running CentOS (v5.8 and v6.3)and one Windows machine running Windows XP. I have two routers which I will refer to as router1 and router2.

Router1 is connected to the internet, and I am able to successfully connect all machines to the internet using router1.

I connected router2 to one of the ports on router1 and configured it to a different subnet(router2 is configured to 192.168.2.1 whereas router1 is configured to 192.168.1.1).

I connected all three machines to router2. The Windows machine connects to the internet using router2 (subnet 198.168.2.xxx) with no problem.

The Centos machines fail to connect. When running ifconfig I see that they are both still trying to connect using subnet 198.168.1.xxx. How would I configure the linux machines to use router2's subnet configuration?

(I am using the default DHCP configurations from the linux installations)
