Two computers to one printer, one of them windows and one Puppy Linux and Windows 2000

I bought a usb sharing device to use my Pixma mp460 with both computers.I installed the printer but the partitioned computer tries to install a printer helper but can't because it wants to copy usbscan.sys from Windows 2000.I don't have the cd for Windows 2000.It also talks about a filec:\winnt\inf\usbprint.inf.
I put the printer cd (Pixma mp460)in the partitioned computer and installed just the basic printer without the 4 programs that came with it.I figure Puupy has similar programs. Is there a download in Puupy I nned to make Linux accept the usb printer helper?

Are these two computers actually physically one computer? I'm not sure I completely understand the question other than it seems like you simply need to setup the printer in Linux. If it's physically attached via the USB cable, then you will set it up as you would any other printer (assuming it is supported of course). If it's not physically attached, and the printer is not a network printer AND you don't have a Windows Print Server (ha!) setup on Windows 2000, then you will need to get it connected some how.

From there, you may want to have a look at:

Good luck!
