The download from Nvidia never works, and I do play graphic-intensive games.
But, like I have done this previously, there are Debian packages that work PERFECTLY, without a driver and it involves Debian-related packages.
But because I am brain-damaged I cannot remember what packages I have previously installed.
Yeah... that stroke is a {bad-word}!
Have yourself a great day!
PS: the nouveau driver is active... I think by default it is always active.
back in the day I remember using old 7.04 to do something like that , but 8.10 was more stable...
I did EXACTLY what you had written. The results were slightly different, and as a few reboots...

I will keep working on this, though.
Have yourself a wonderful day!
{PS: I am 60 years-old near the end of 2024, I can no longer run, but my Not-Winter activity is to do daily walks from 4 miles to 15 miles, near the end of walking season, my goal is a 20 mile walk}
By not showing us your input/output from running inxi, you're potentially holding back information that could help us help you. I see nothing in this thread that tells us which NVidia GPU you have, or how it's connected to what kind of display(s).
