New member, w/question about linux

Hello all! I have an old linux wild dog pro desktop that I want to get running again. I need to know if I can just go get a screen at Wal-Mart to use, or if I need a special screen for linux. Looking to get one on the smaller side... 21 inch would be great, as I have a rolling cart that I use in bed to go online with. Thanks in advance

Those came with video card options. You need a monitor compatible with that video card. I noticed you did not mention what hardware options were chosen when that desktop was ordered, so it is difficult to give a pointed answer, but nearly any standard display monitor with the proper connectors and protocol should work. If it matched the capabilities of the card you will have more DPI/resolution options on setup.

Lots of pre used available online (Ebay etc) - last time I wanted to buy a new monitor, 24" seemed the smallest regularly available...

(HP or Dell had 21.5" - I got an HP with VGA/DP/DVI sockets for about £30.)

I'm inclined to agree that almost any monitor should work.

I have never encountered an issue with, for lack of a better phrase, monitor compatibility. A particular video card might not be compatible with Linux, but I would expect its video output to be compatible with just about any monitor.
