Hi
Im new, but had a similar problem! Which these guys helped to fix! Are you using grub or lilo? I used grub and it wouldn't boot directly, so I used the cd. I edited the vga comand in grub to "vga=normal" which started linux and then after it's first start I reset vga back to "vga=0x31a" |
The problems might be somewhat different.
emrkar, you're saying that win98 boots directly, without allowing you to see a lilo or grub menu or prompt? If so, how did you do the install? Have you booted until now into Linux without the floppy disk? If not, maybe the boot loader isn't written into the MBR. |
harken I think you are right that mbr has the windows bootloader
and linux needs a bootdisk until he has confidence that (grub) a linux bootloader is better if so emrkar I commend you to read my tutorial here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=237511 btw I use to have w98 and still have it to test my dual boot commands |
