How do I compile, install, and configure the drivers for the Sabrent PCI Wireless-N Wi-Fi Network Adapter PCI-802N?

Which distribution in which version do you use?
The WLAN card you mention should be using the Ralink RT2860 chipset which usually should work out of the box, AFAIK.

You might have to download ralink driver modules from your distro's repository. If you are using Ubuntu or Debian, run the Synaptic package manager...

I thank you for your attention to this matter. The issue has been resolved. I am using Slackware 13.37, and since a new version 14 has just been released, I did something bold.
I re-installed 13.37 and skipped the network configuration. Then I placed the Ralink firmware in the hierarchy, and installed the wicd package from the extra folder of the Slackware installation set. Ran wicd and lo and behold the system detected the wireless device and the connections available in my area.

Rescent experience with HP\

I just bought a HP printer that has eprint as one of its functions. This feature should, according to the included info, run independent of the operating system. I installed the printer drivers and software within tLinux Slackware 14-64-bit system and could not get the e-print working. I have a Laptop that is running Microsoft Windows 7 that has been just returned from Dell for repair and just got it back from Dell. As I was getting this laptop up to date with my systems, I uploaded the drivers and software for the new HP printer. In the process I got the "eprint feature up and running"...
Question: Was Hewlett Packard punishing me for using Slackware?

Roberto Alvarez 02-20-2013 02:09 AM

ps

The ink cartridges replacement cost as much or more than the printer. If Hewllet Packard is looking to punish me uyfor using an operating system of their dislike, they should be more open about it. I can simply absorb the losses of already having bought something from them and be more aware for the future.
