Try downloading some other video player like Xine or mplayer.. I've had a lot of problems using kaffeine.. I hope that helps.

Good Luck

It could be a couple of things but I've found that with Mandrake 10.1, Kaffeine does'nt come with all the necessary or latest CODECS. Go to the Kaffeine web page - kaffeine.sourceforge.net, check the FAQ page and you should find a link to the mplayerproject where you can down load the latest xine-lib and win32 codecs which should sort the problem. Worked for me.

Are you using KDE or Gnome?

I am using KDE

Start Menu >> Control Center >> KDE Components >> File Associations >> Video (last entry)
Then simply change the associations in the menu on the right.
