Aspira
Hi, I bought a second hand notebook Acer Aspira 3 314-21, meanwhile the seller has vanished from ebay. It seems its bios has been encrypted as I can't acces it with esc and F2.
I installed a bit linux distro on a working 120gb SSD At the boot it says it found it but when I click on it I get 'no bootable disk' Is there a way to get into the bios? Thank you. |
I don't really know what OS did you install. It is an ancient system and not all the modern distros can run on that.

What does 'a bit linux distro' mean? How did you install it. Did you boot a DVD or USB with the Linux iso written to it on this computer to install? Did you install it with the SSD on this same computer? If so, then you must have had to access the BIOS to change the boot order to boot from the DVD or USB? What are you 'clicking' on to get no bootable disk? Is this a boot menu, from Grub? That generally means the bootloader was not properly installed.

Thank you very much, sorry for the delay. I had to buy a new SSD first and installed Ubuntu 64bit on it. I unplugged the Kingston SD from the motherboard in the hope it would solve the problem. Unfortunately the problem is not the SD but the bios that's protected by a password which I don't know. So, I don't see how to resolve this if I can't access the bios.
