64bit Linux versions write they are for amd64. Combatible for Intel 64bit also?
 
As i see 64bits linux versions are for amd64 architecture. Will they be combatible for my 64bit Intel P8700 also.

Its a common architecture wright?

Of course. amd64 is often used for x86_64 because AMD came up with a 64-bit extension to x86_32 first, then Intel had to follow up.

oh yeah yeah i remember about 2005 when it happened. so that was the reason as i immagined. it just remained the name
