Postfix will not send mail
hi,
i have a mandrake system setup as a webserver, for some reason postfix has stopped working on this machine. when i go to send a message postfix just puts it in the maildrop directory ( under /var/spool/postfix ) and does not deliver the message. the only problem that is showing up is in the error log, it produces the following: fatal: open dictionary: need "type:name" form: /etc/postfix/virtual.db can anyone shed any light on this, and propose any fixes? i presume i am missing something in the virtual.db file, but what? thanks for any help antken |
Backup your postfix config files and try remove/reinstall the package? That's probably the quickest fix.
You probably have to rebuild the virtual.db file. Er, actually I just checked /etc/postfix/virtual and it has quite informative comments. Just less /etc/postfix/virtual. You'll need to fix your apparent syntax error, then rebuild the file by using postmap. |
