Can we rock the Doogee outta this F5?

After a brief search I haven't seen much of the old Doogee F5 mentioned, processor and such I have not searched, flog me nicely please!

The goal would be to make this my wifi router linked to home server mini Linux tablet.

The server's in the works of weeks of trials and tribulations, an old Lenovo P700 dual E5-2630 v3 but that might be another thread.

Anyway the Doogee F5 specs are as follows

Operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop
Internal memory 16 GB
RAM memory 3 GB
Processor MediaTek MT6753
Processor clock: 1.30 GHz
Number of cores: 8
GPU: ARM Mali-T720 @450 MHz

How many of the functions would you think we can keep and still get the Doogee out of it?

I've got some USB adapters for micro SD cards so sideloading an distro may be an option, or not?

AntiX I have a brief associated with but haven't found a tablet flavor with touch screen ready to go, does it exist?

Please be kind to this newb, he knows not the wisdom within these spaces.

I don't know if any kind of linux can be installed on this Doogee F5 device. Otherwise I don't really understand what do you want to achieve.

I have had no luck so far. Android 5.1 is too old for Andronix if I remember correctly, the MediaTek MT6753 is locked down pretty tight.

I'd like to achieve a compact pocket-able link to my server, for stuff like cooking in the kitchen, sending items to shopping lists in the server, loading lists for shopping trips. An ability to access my automotive files and records on my server for maintenance of vehicles, fluid types, part numbers...

Almost PDA like in recording thoughts of the moment for tools while milling or deviations in plans for Blender bending on the server.

Something for around the house and garage that isn't as large or as slow as my old HP Stream 7 that I can slip in a pocket.

The Doogee F5 never really worked well for me as a phone being my location and the phone function can go the way of the Dodo for all I care.

AntiX don't do arm cpu iso releases. Too small of a team.

MX does though for the PI. I got this to boot on my Cheapo low ram and cpu raspberry pi after installing it to a sd card with
balena etcher 1.7 version.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-...aspberry%20Pi/

MX arm iso uses fluxbox window manger so it will have a antiX feel to it. Comes with firefox.

Like you. I bit the bullet on one of my old phones and just use. Movie player. PDF viewer for manuals on file.
Glorified mp3 player.
No sim card or internet.

I've run a few MX distros and really like 21.3 KDE. Thanks I'll see how it goes!
