Which ISO i have to Download for my Laptop?

Dear Friends first of all CONGRATULATIONS for Linux Mint...

Please tell me which ISO i have to download...?

in the following link

we have

1. Main Edition

2. Universal Edition...


Which on i have to download which works on my Laptop

i have

1.4Ghz Processor

512MB of RAM

1MB Cache..

Based on what you have described of your laptop, I couldn't tell you, and I would be wary of anyone with enough confidence to tell you.

Example: "Please tell me what petrol to put in my car, it has bridgestone tires with 1.4mm tread"....

What he is saying, (in a rather geeky way), is that laptops are difficult in a Linux environment and, therefore, to be able to give you some help the knowledgable people on this forum need to know what make and model of laptop you have, ex. Acer TravelMate 6292 i.e. as much information as possible.

and it works great on my Laptop...

CONGRATS for the ever new Linux Mint... :-)

actually, they are both the same, except that the universal does not have the media codecs installed by default, due to some legal issues in some countries. I always recommend the main edition, as it is, well, the main edition.

If you Don't live in the the USA, use the 'Main edition'.
( it's got all the goodies ).
