Move Home Contents
 

I am moving contents of home from one drive to home an a new install. Both have separate home partitions. Anything I should not move to the new home?

Nothing to worry about if it's the same distro. :)

Even if it's a different distro, all should be OK.

If it's a different distro, you might not want to move the dot-config files, except perhaps the mail store, browser shortcuts, and the like.

Same distro, version, etc. Not moving the , stuff except mail, browser and etc

I moved all hidden files from old installation to to home on new installation. What do I now do to activate my preferences, added software, and bookmarks. I am running Firefox. I have not done much on the new install, not added anything yet.

That's not my situation. I did a new install on a new drive with a separate home. I moved the contents of the home partition on the old drive including all hidden files and folders to the new drive. How do I get the preferences, bookmarks, etc to work now? I have done very little with the new install on the new drive except updates.
