You know what you've got and what you see, but we know nothing. That list of errors isn't much use out of context How_To_Ask_a_Question

You can copy & paste logs to pastebin.com or post screen photos. I take it you're trying to install? What's on the usb? What do you expect to happen?

colorpurple21859 09-23-2022 03:41 PM

What do you mean by “configures up here”?
Is this a live system with persistence?
Does “only boot once” mean you have to reinstall with rufus? Doesn’t work on a reboot? Doesn’t work after configuring?

No idea what you're asking, but this seems like a common theme with your posts:

Gone from Mint 19, to 20, and now 21 over the course of several years, and you don't provide any details that would let anyone help you. Until you're willing to ask a clear question and provide clear details, there isn't much point in posting, because we can't guess.

BOOT UP FROM usb

What I mean by configure is, on first boot when it worked I can set up e-mail ok photos ok.
Persistence yes appears ok. Yes, all nice and working.

Shut down then works off it goes.
Now on the next time on boot up from the usb it's all gone to pieces.
Thats when on screen comes what I wrote to forum.
It will not then get any further on boot up, blank screen, not even turn off.
Thats all I can add. May be this version is a Beta.
Thank you all

Sorry, just doesn't make any sense, and you *STILL* haven't provided any error(s)/message(s)...saying "this message goes past", or that "then works off it goes" is meaningless. You've repeated this pattern with most of your other posts as well. You don't say how you configured it, why you can't just install it to your hard drive and dual boot, or give us any details at all.

Since you can't (or won't), there isn't much we can help you with.

It obviously isn't, if you looked at their website.

How big is the persistence partition? If you re-boot with no persistence will it boot?

pianoforte361 09-26-2022 01:47 PM

colorpurple21859
The persistence file is about 8Gb NTFS
Its only a guess its a BETA. When the screens blank there is not much I can say.
It seems like it's only me who has had this 'fault'.

Yet your first post said "I notice on screen; this message goes past. I have on outside text disabled by BIOS'"...and now it's blank??? So it's one of two things:
  • It's a totally blank screen
  • There is a message which you still won't tell us
Either way, there is *NOTHING* we can tell you, since we have zero information. Again, this is a recurring theme with your threads, and it's been happening for Mint 19, 20, and now 21. You don't say how you performed this installation or give us any details, yet somehow think we'll be able to help you???

Simple instructions on how to perform the installation: follow them.

what happens if you boot in compatibility mode?

pianoforte361 09-27-2022 01:33 PM

colourpurple21859.
Nothing on screen it does not get any further, thus nothing to select.
Thank you.

It's not an installation it is on a usb flash drive.
I now think that if I installed it to computer, I would not be having this problem.
The most sensible thing to do is to let Rufus delete and run Rufus again.

pianoforte361 09-27-2022 01:37 PM

This is the first time I have had this boot prob with Mint 21. Mint 19 20 ok, get the facts right please

colorpurple21859 09-27-2022 01:37 PM

Did you check the md5sum of the iso?
So you are not getting a boot menu? Is this a uefi system?

pianoforte361 09-27-2022 02:01 PM

Yes, it is Mr Purple all done with Rufus.

I'm not aware of any Linux system that will have a persistent partition with ntfs, it needs to be a Linux filesystem. You might take a look at mkusb which creates a 'live' system with a persistent partition plus an ntfs partition which needs to be the first partition and can be used to save data and be seen by both Linux/Windows. So if your persistent partition is ntfs, it won't save any changes.

From your rather cryptic posts, it's difficult to tell if that's your actual problem or if you made some change with the cinnamon desktop.
