Slackware Current on Asus Zenbook Pro UX580G
I recently was gifted an Asus Zenbook Pro UX580G, so naturally I immediately nuked Windows 10 and replaced it with Slackware 15.0 and I selected the current mirror.
The below worked out of the box: - Sound - Fn keys - Touch screen - Wireless - Bluetooth I am only having issues with the touchpad, well it's an Asus Screenpad. My issue isn't that I want it to be a display, I want it to function like a touchpad. At the moment I have limited touch pad functionality. Left click only, no right click, no finger gestures. Playing with the KDE settings does nothing. Libinput lists it as an Elan device, but if I disable the touchpad ID it still functions, if I disable the mouse ID it disables input, so it seems that it isnt recognised as a touchpad?. I was hoping someone out there can point be in the right direction to fix it. |
In duckduckgo "Asus Zenbook touchpad and linux support" gives some interesting links...
Even a "Asus Zenbook Pro UX580G touchpad with linux" comes up with possible solutions? Can't stand the thing, so disabled the pad in bios and went for a wireless mouse. Much nicer! :D |
