Ondemand governor won't work, processor always stuck in high P-state
 
I can't get my EeePC (Debian Lenny w/ 2.6.26 kernel) to use the ondemand governor. I put a line in rc.local to always enter the ondemand state, and check powertop, but the processor is perpetually stuck in the 1333MHz P-state. I'm getting 8.4W/h and I like to get it down to 8W even at 800MHz.

Should I upgrade to the 2.6.30 kernel in backports to use SHE and KMS? Would that help? I'd have to drag in some sid dependencies with though (acpi.)

Upgraded to squeeze. Seems to be working now.

Changing C-state governor

I learnt that we can change P-state governors with the command echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/current_governor

How does one change the C state governor ?
