Lenovo G560 notebook and Linux
Hello, has anybody tried to install Linux on Lenovo G560 notebook ? If yes, how it works ? Are any problems with running Linux on this type of ntb ?

Hye
did you check Tuxmobile or Linux on Laptops website? There are plenty of installation descriptions. Check if there is your device or if there is similar hardware where installation works. If you provide some detailed hardware specs it will be easier for us to say if installation will work or not. Only the device type is some rare information. |
Yes, I did, but g560 hes been released only few weeks ago, so there's nothig about it

Hi,
this all sounds like standard components. As mentioned take a look at other devices with same or nearly the same hardware specs, this will help. If you expect a full hardware compatibility you better get a somewhat "older" hardware. |
As I checked, all previously stated components should work, so I decided to buy it. But I worry about battery life and mainly s2r. Later Ill add this type on www.linlap.com

Hi,
did you check all power saving possibilities are enabled? I disable bluetooth and wifi and usb if they are unused. This saves me up to 40% battery life on my IBM T41. Be aware that in nearly all cases the vendor provides sugarcoated battery life values. If 3,5h is stated, mostly al little bit more than 2h in real life usage are possible. |
Ok, I am going to buy it and then I see, thx for advices .-)
