Network card (carte reseau) support in RH 7.2

hi

Did anybody installed RedHat 7.2 on HP XL 766. I think i have a Carte Reseau network card, and i didnt find if Redhat supports this hardware. I believe its a french company, so most probably there could be drivers some were as Mandrake 8.1 does support this card. So if anybody could shed some light on likelyhood of finding drivers for this card, i would be greatfull.

Mandrake, RedHat, Suse none of them actually support hardware. The Linux kernel supports hardware, and none of these companies produce the kernel.

The network card is probably just a french marketed version of a well known chipset, probably made in taiwan like everything else in our computers... except the chips which were made in Dublin, Hamburg or California.

A hunch makes me want to guess its another Realtek 8139 clone, but it could be a tulip card or a number of other things. The easiest way to find out is install and try.

Luck,

Finegan
