megaraid controller not showing up as drive
I have a megaRAID 9540-2M2 installed. In windows10 I can interact with it using storCLI and see it as a valid drive, but I'm having problems with my debian system dual booted on the same machine.
The device is detected: Code:
$ lspci -v | grep -i megaraid Code:
08:00.0 RAID bus controller: Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID 12GSAS/PCIe Secure SAS38xx Code:
$ sudo /opt/MegaRAID/storcli/storcli64 show Code:
CLI Version = 007.2612.0000.0000 June 13, 2023 And it doesn't show up on fdisk at all. Running debian 12 with kernel 6.1.0-10-amd64. Already updated the device firmware to latest available version. What am I missing? |
I've also already installed the drives for debian from broadcomms website:
Code:
$ sudo modinfo megaraid_sas |
Same issue
It seems I am having exactly the same issue. I don't suppose you are able to explain were you able to resolve it?
The Raid bus controller appears to be recognized: Code:
But Storcli does not seem to be able to find the controller: Code:
root@Tmubian:/opt/MegaRAID/storcli# /opt/MegaRAID/storcli/storcli64 show Code:
root@Tmubian:/opt/MegaRAID/storcli# sudo modinfo megaraid_sas |
Sort of. Never got it working with that install, but I later installed Fedora desktop and everything worked properly. Probably some drivers that hadn't made it into Debian.

Is there a raid bios key command to enter config?

@Tmuussoni , Try a ..
Code:
Code:
Code:

@Tmuussoni , Well I was being blind you'd already done what I asked within your first post .
I went & whacked at the Broadcom/megaraid & found a document concerning drives they are aware that function with you controller . The only other possibilty is that since then a newer kernel has an updated driver . Hth , JimL https://techdocs.broadcom.com/conten...rt-ditamap.pdf |
