Mandrake 9.0 and Adaptec 2944UW SCSI HBA

Hi,

I'm running Mandrake 9.0 on an older Pentium machine.

I have an "extra" Adaptec AHA-2944UW SCSI HBA that I'd like to use with a spare 4mm tape drive to do backups on a small home network.

Searching the Adaptec site, I don't see any mention of this board working with Linux- they mention Windows, NetWare, SCO Unix, and Solaris...

Should I bother installing this board or will it not work at all?

If anyone has it working, please do share what needs to be done and what drivers need to be installed.

Thanks!
Marlo
