Mandrake 10.1 and Adaptec AIC-7896
 

Hi

I am new to Linux, and i have a old Intel server with a AIC 7896 SCSI controller. When i use a Mandrake boot disk and try to install, the installation gives me the following error:

insmod'ing module i2o)block failed at/
usr/bin/perl-install/module.pm line 302

i then press OK and get the error again.

The installation then goes to show that it has found Adapec AIC-7896,
and asks if there is any other hardware. When i seelct No

i get the following:

An Error occured - no valid device were found on which to create new file system. Please check your hardware for the cause of this issue.

I have tried differnt drivers given to me when i select the yes option when i am asked if i have another one.

Please help......
