Brother HL-5050 on debian with custom page size
Hey everybody,
I bought a Brother HL-5050 a couple of weeks ago and have been nothing but satisfied - under Windows. We're printing on a special page format, 14,8cm by 33,5cm, and under Windows that works perfectly. Now we're migrating to Linux (Debian Sarge) and it doesn't look that good anymore: the printer stops printing after the length of a format-A4-page. I tried everything, PPDs from linuxprinting.org, from Brother, I installed the .deb package from Brother and I even changed the PPDs to support my format. To no avail. Does anyone have an idea how to get this printer to print some more? Just a teeny 5cm! I'd be eternally grateful for some hints, Jonas |
Already solved
Someone got me on the right track: the problem was the PostScript document created by OpenOffice. Apparently, under Linux, OpenOffice overrides the page format set for the document with the one set for the printer. So, I changed the SGENPRT.PS file of
OpenOffice and appended my page format. Now I can select it while printing and it prints correctly! Nevermind, everyone, Trystero |
