Bluuetooth keyboard connection problem

I bought a bluetooth keyboard because my laptop keyboard has some sticky keys and it connected beautifully and then automatically until a kernel update.
sudo apt install libspa-0.2-bluetooth (then) reboot
fixed it. Until the next kernel update. Now says it's the latest version but doesn't fix it.
Comes up with: Connection Failed:br-connection-create-socket
AGAIN!
Is a bluetooth 3.0 keyboard. Bluetooth speaker now fails to connect too with a slightly different error message.

What OS is? What hardware is it? In general you need to check the logs, probably you will find something related, but without details hard to say anything.

in general that should work. This dell laptop has bluetooth 4.2 and this OS also supports it.
So the next step would be to check the log files, like /var/log/messages, if there is anything related (or in dmesg).
