allowable configurations for 2 monitors

Re: setting-up 2 LCD monitors.

Xinerama calls for 2 graphics cards.
I have an ATi 9550 graphics card (AGP 8x) that has one DVI and one VGA output. Would Xinerama see this as just 1 card? I have a build-in VGA card on my motherboard. Could that count as a second card?

Based on the video cards I see on the market it seems that a typical configuration is to place one video DVI card in the AGP slot and place another DVI video card into a PCI slot. Is that a correct intrepretation?

Thanks,
Ukee
