I'd suggest a newer browser, maybe Firefox. You may also check your plugins by typing
Code:

about:plugins
in the url bar. You can check javascript settings by going to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins.
Good luck. ;-)

I'm having the same problem as sunils1973. I have also installed the latest flash player and checked in Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins but in my case I had to go into Web Features instead of Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins (I'm using version 1.0.7 of firefox. so is that where I should look? or is there somewhere else I need to look?)

I'm also using fedora core 4

I'd also suggest a browser upgrade for you, at least something in the 2.x series.
Good luck. ;-)

the instructions on the firefox website says to install the new version but i can not get it to install. i unpack the firefox-2.0.0.13.tar.gz file but when I try running the commands from the fire fox web site in the folder nothing happens so i dont know what i am doing wrong with that.

sunils1973 04-14-2008 03:23 AM

I have downloaded and installed firefox and now youtube is working

but still there is a problem.....

1 ) If i used to use youtube continuously, it hangs the system - the only way to recover is by killing the process. (like in windows-there)

but in windows I can run youtube without problems.

2 ) I have to run the command /usr/local/src/bin/firefox to run firefox

What is the method to attach an icon to this program?

Without seeing the errors it would be nearly impossible to guess what's going wrong. That said, If you're running Fedora you should be looking for an rpm of Firefox to install rather than compiling from source.
Good luck. ;-)

Which desktop/window manager are you using?
Good luck. ;-)

Damon Spector 04-14-2008 09:09 AM

okay maybe a dumb question but where would i find the rpm for it all i can find is the firefox-2.0.0.13.tar.gz off the firefox web site.

There is a disclaimer before reaching this page that warns there are some bugs but, this should get you going in the right direction.

Managing software with YUM

Or you could search for rpms and have a look at the repositories manually.
Good luck. ;-)

GNOME destkop

For future reference you should try to find a deb package for the software you wish to install or setup apt or synaptics. For now try right clicking on the desktop, choose Create Launcher, then enter the command to the app.
Good luck. ;-)
