Turn off annoying tooltips in chrome
Well basically what the subject says I get loads of tooltips pop up when browsing a forum ( rolling over the post headings etc ) I don't know if this is a chrome or a forum thing but I don't get them when I use firefox or when I go to ( say ) the xfce forums with chrome, I have had a look at both the chrome settings and the LQ settings in my account and I just can't seem to get rid of them - I HATE TOOL TIPS!!!!!
I didn't have the browser issue, but somewhat related, I did manage to stop the lousy buggers from visually polluting my Xfce desktop. This may not help your situation, but maybe worth a try. I don't really know if it's connected, though. Good luck.

Well that certainly helps except that it turns off ALL tool tips in gtk But I can live with that, BTW you don't have to logout then in just quickly switch gtk themes.
I will leave this thread open for a bit in case someone comes up with a better solution but i ain't optimistic knowing google!
