Did any one has ever use TOR
It seems to be freeware for LInux and windows
It seem to prevent ISps from determining which sites you are visiting
mostly to prevent that you get a lot advertising

But I did not like to use software if I did not know the origin

Hope somebody can help

I receive it as a gift from FSF (free software foundation), which is a safe source. Thus, I tried it with success.

That's weird, I've never used it for that reason, and haven't met anyone else who has yet. I'm sure some people use it for that, though. But I seriously doubt it's "mostly" used for that.

In any case, if you read-up on the project, you'll notice it has received a pretty decent amount of peer-review in its time. It's also deployed by some very serious organizations. I think it's a great tool as long as users understand its purpose and limitations. History shows that a lot of people don't, however.
