Postfix SMTP AUTH (and TLS) HOWTO
I've been at this tutorial for days and it allways bring me to this.
12.4. Check if SMTP AUTH works http://postfix.state-of-mind.de/patr...ilclients.html when I ran the check, I get 535 Error: authentication failed the tutorial allso refers to a file needed called cyrus-sasl-authd ,as you can see below I dont have that file on the system or even on my tiny sofa CD. I have not found it yet, in fact I cant find it anywere at all. [root@localhost]# rpm -qa | grep cyrus-sasl cyrus-sasl-sql-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-ntlm-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-md5-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-plain-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-devel-2.1.19-3ts cyrus-sasl-gssapi-2.1.19-3ts also the tutorial is way out of date like 2004 and thats probley half my problem. anyone know of another tutorial please.:newbie: TT |

How are you authenticating? There most popular methods of SASL authentication are - sasldb, pam, mysql - which one are you using?
