File Sharing Between Home Directories

Hello,

I have a directory in my home called Software that I would like to make publicly accessible. I'm running a SMB server and I would like to make the folder accessible to all. I think I have an idea but I'd like some input here. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

what kind of information are you after? everything you should need to accomplish this should be ni the man page for samba. is there somethign specifically causing you trouble?

Hi Chris,

Yes, what I'm trying to accomplish is this:

(1) I have a directory called Software in MY home directory. This is software for Windows.

(2) I wish to make this directory publicly accessible to my SMB users without making my entire home directory publicly accesible.

And no, there doesn't seem to be anything in the man pages about it

No offense intended here, but do you have Samba already installed and working for other shares? We could help more if we had an idea of how much information to provide.

cheers

what you're after is definitely in the manpages, just change the location of the share in the example. experiment...

I got it to work now. I must have been tired last night.
