Should i buy 2033 & 2004???

Ok i never realy played (and got realy into) UT. I've played a couple random times but never seriouse, just thought it looked good one day and im going to buy it, so getting that off my back i come to my questions, do i need Unreal Tournament 1 and 2003 to play 2004? and if i dont should i buy UT 2003 for some reason?

UT2004 is a stand alone game, and it is compatable with ut2003 servers. and includes all the ut2003 maps etc.

so its pointless buying both games when ut2004 is all you will need (2 games in for one if you ask me!)

i'd suggest downloading the ut2003 demo and playing it to see if you like it - it is compatible with full game server that are running certain maps.

A ut2004 demo is due out sometime in the coming months.

UT2003 is amazing. I would recommend buying that now and then buying 2004 when it comes out. You'll get probably 3 months or so gameplay out of UT2003 before 2004 comes out.

I would recommend what Mike Blick said, if you are a hard core gamer, that really really want to play Unreal. But if I were you, I would just wait for UT2004.

Everyday I play Unreal Tournament G.O.T.Y, in my windows XP system. But I never bought UT2003, and now I don't have to because i'm going to buy 2004, which is like 2 games in 1. So I think it is like a waste to buy 2003 now, instead of just waiting for 2004 (for me).

what ever you do is all up to you.

Kovacs 12-28-2003 06:01 PM

I've installed GOTY with the installer from the icculus page, there is also a separate GOTY installer but the regular one worked fine for me.

Nukem 12-28-2003 07:18 PM

Abe_the_Man 01-01-2004 12:58 PM

You could probably find UT GOTY for $5 or $10. That should probably hold you over until UT2004 comes out.
