What type of games are you looking for; text-based, arcade, the kind of games that come with KDE/Gnome, FPSs, RTSs?

http://happypenguin.org/ has a brilliant repository of Open Source games. Think Freshmeat, with comments and tuned for games. However you will find that you will not find as large a selection of games on Linux.

<personal opinion>
My advice, keep gaming to games consoles. The right tool for the right job. Just because you can play games on a PC, doesn't mean you should.

The Playstation 2 keeps me enjubilated.
